We really are the luckiest!

So most of you know that we're going on a cruise as part of Dan's parent's 50th wedding anniversary celebration. The cruise has been in the works for over a year and it's coming up fast. I remember sitting around the campfire at our reunion last year as we threw out ideas of when and where to go. Alaska, Europe, and all sorts of things were thrown out and we settled on the Western Caribbean. We also settled on the fact that NO KIDS were allowed, unless they were 18 and able to pay for themselves. I know this will be a major bonus for a lot of us, but I really am glad that Dan's parents will not feel obligated to watch anyone's children while we go out and have fun. This time it's their turn to take a week and do what they want to do with their time.

So here is what Dan and I have decided to do with our time in the Western Caribbean aboard the Carnival Valor.

9/12- Fly to Miami and stay at the Palm Aire resort (thanks Brandon!)

9/13- Board the Carnival Valor

9/14- Fun Day at Sea

9/15- Grand Cayman- We are doing a wave runner sting ray tour!

9/16- Roatan- We're going to snorkel, take it easy and just be tourists

9/17- Belize- We are touring the Lamanai Mayan ruins. I'm really excited about this one!

9/18- Cozumel- My birthday! What better way to celebrate than to swim with the dolphins! It has been my life long dream to do this. I'm really really excited!

9/19- Fun Day at Sea

9/20- Return to Miami and fly home that night
Some silly little things I'm looking forward to are flying with Dan and no kids. Just being with him and being able to pay attention to him. I'm looking forward to all the food I'm going to eat. We've been doing a Lose for the Cruise competition and working really hard at eating and living healthier. This week on the cruise, no points will be taken away and pounds will be added happily. I'm looking forward to sun and sand. We had a Cancun trip cancelled a few years ago so this is long overdue, and a vacation I've been wanting to do for a long long time. I'm looking forward to some silence. It gets really loud and crazy at home, and while it may get a little loud and crazy with the McBrides, it's completely welcome.
So pray for good weather and good kids for my mom. I enlisted her as soon as I could to have come watch the kids. This wouldn't be possible without her. Thanks mom!

  2. awesome!!!! To be honest, I don't think I could enjoy a cruise with children because I'd be so afraid they'd get lost or kidnapped, you know thinking that so and so is taking care of them and they think that the kids are with someone else....too much panic room. Are your kids gonna stay with your parents?
