Zing! Zang! Zoom!

When I heard that the Ringling Bros. were coming town I jumped at the chance to get tickets and take the kids. I only vaguely remember going to the circus when I was in elementary school and I thought it was something every kid should get a chance to go to. Here are my observations about the greatest show on earth.

1. It was loud
2. It was long (2 hour show w/intermission and 1 hour pre-show)
3. It was expensive ($12 for cotton candy? No way! $22 for the coveted light up toy! $15 for a program!)
4. And Cade still talks about how much fun the circus was.

That's what makes these 'adventures' worth the money and the noise and the fussy children. He LOVED the elephants, tigers, puppies and the jumping (which i'm sure referred to any sort of acrobatics). It was a very intriguing show with plenty to keep all ages entertained. Unfortunately poor Alex only got a short nap before we left at 9:30 and he fought sleep the entire time. He was squirmy times 100 and eventually gave up during the very last performance. Cade also said he was scared and that it was too loud, but was very upset when we left. All in all we're glad we went, but we wouldn't do it year after year. Especially since as the kids get older they'll feel like they need more toys, food and all the goodies available!

I may have mentioned that we started a garden. When Dan's dad was here for Cade's b-day he built us a garden in our 'backyard' that is raised off of the ground. We got it all set up and planted and are finally starting to see some buds! I just had to take a picture! While we were enjoying a beautiful night last night I couldn't resist some more pics of the kids by our beautiful azaleas.

  1. You have much better pictures than we have from the circus...its looks like Cade had a blast! And no kidding, $12 for cotton candy, my mouth hit the floor!

  2. Cute pictures. The circus looked fun. We've been debating about whether we should go or not. But it looks like you had fun. Your azaleas are so pretty! Very cute pics!
